A Win Win tonight
« on: February 06, 2014, 04:04:11 PM »
We have a Win/Win situation tonight.  GSU at UALR.

-With a GSU loss we control our own destiny (win out and we will at least share season title)
-With a UALR loss we have a good hold on second place and bye for tourney.

I want the ship! Lets go UALR!

Thoughts on game?  Who u want to win?

I want a 4 OT game with with punches being thrown by Hunter/Atkins & Neighbour/Hagins and a UALR win

if that can't happen I want a UALR loss

I agree. I want more breathing room between us and the teams below. Let Georgia St do what they're doing. I don't think they have the depth to make it to the end.

1st or 2nd place means a lot... so I think it comes down to if we think that we can beat UALR on Saturday and then beat GaSt on 3/8 while holding everything together between that time.

I think we can so go UALR

I just don't see UALR doing it. When you look at their last 8 SBC games, they have beat Texas State, USA twice, ULL without Long, WKU without Price & Fant on the bench, a double digit loss to Troy, and have been crushed by ASU & Ga. State.  :o

The also caught UL-L without Shawn Long...he committed a TJ Price brain fart

Without a doubt - let GA State keep winning. Would be nice to have the separation from UALR, and the more wins GA State has, the better it would look if we took them out in the end :)

Georgia State is just too good for UALR in the first half.

Even with a bad shooting night (by their standards) they are up 8 points at half time. 29-21.

No surprise. Panthers win 68-57. Trojans just aren't that good. Georgia State has somewhat of an off night with Hunter with 4 fouls early. Neighbour looks like All-American against the Toppers but yet score 4 points tonight and was not in foul trouble. Some of their fans were thinking he should be POY but Hunter is much more deserving. The guy only score 1 point in a big rivalry game against ASU.   >:(

If the South Alabama score holds up then the Jags will be the first team to be mathematically eliminated from winning the regular season championship tonight.  Really shocking fail for the jagwires this season.
The following statement is true.

The previous statement is false.

If we can earn a split in Ark, we'll still be alone in second no matter what anyone else does. And then will get us to a 3-game home stand against the bottom of the league (Troy, USA, ULM).

That said, if Ark State is within a game of us at any point, it's trouble because they close with 6/7 at home. It will be hard to keep pace with them if it's tight over the last few weeks.

Currently, The Robots like WKU by 1 at UALR, but like stAte to beat the Tops by 4.

From an unbiased perspective, a split would be great.

I don't think there is any doubt that ASU is the better team. Little Rock has been fairly lucky. I think we make the Arkansas sweep. We are playing our best ball right now. We owe Shields a beat down, that lucky stiff.   ;)
